Thelemic New Year! (a few days late) – 93! 93/93!
This week:
1. Added a MySpace site for Invisible College Quartet.
2. Sent out a few limited edition CDs of The Passage, including a few review copies.
3. Started a practicing classical guitar again in earnest (as opposed to playing a bit, but not really doing technical work). I’m working the exercises in Kitherologus. Awesome.
4. Continued research in audio production history
5. Prep work another job interview next week
6. First recording session with hhkkhaaouummp. Quite a bit of good stuff.
7. Cleaned the studio. It was getting rough to work in.
8. Met with Conrad for coffee and music chat.
9. Discussed some guitar work Lyn Goeringer needs for a project.
10.Did some audio work for Mentormeter Media. Good to get back to work.
11.Mundane stuff: haircut, new plugs for my ears.

Alright, this one goes off the map a bit. . .
I think that the most interesting aspect of existing as a consciousness separated from the other conscious entities that surround me (to the extent that I engage in such a reality) is that we all have different tastes. It is conceivable that humanity, taken as a whole, actually likes ALL of the music.
But somehow, I can’t help but think that there might some special magical piece of music that NO ONE likes. I want to find that music and listen to its fundamental un-likableness.

First, this should be feeding to my MySpace and Facebook pages. That is cool and exciting. I assume that increases the likelihood of people outside of Germany reading this (why people from Germany read my blog is a mystery to me, but I consistently get a dozen hits a day.)
Second, I finished the submission material for composition project 2 of my dissertation. This includes most of the collaberations from my doctoral years. In the process of working on this (as previously mentioned) I did some audio work on the two live recordings of Wave Clouds like Hands, and I remixed the Star Ruby 2.0 performance with Tara Davison.I figured out a clever way to deal with the 8.1-to-stereo problem that maintains most of the motion of the 8.1. It isn’t something that would work on a lot of downmixes, but it worked with the specific 2-d motions of this.
Third, continued research on the major document. It is starting to get some focus.
Fourth, I started prep work on my teaching material for an interview at the end of the month.
Finally, I finished the first leg of promotion for The Passage. I’ll start more uphill battles next week.
Other than that, this week was much the same: eat, teach, work, sleep. Repeat.

1. In the process of preparing composition project 2 for submission, I had to do some work on the Invisible College Quartet recordings. I went ahead and prepped it for release on Mystery Cabal. It will probably be available next week.
2. Worked on the press release for The Passage. It will be available as an MP3 purchase this week at the store.
3. Met with Rhia about a new production/recording project.
4. Scheduled the first meeting with Art Bouton about the next piece I’m writing for him.
5. Looked at relocating. I’ve been in Denver for a long time, and it may be time to move on.
6. Priced CDs for The Passage. Looking at a pre-sale plan for revenue.
7. Continued research on audio history.

1. Spent the weekend in NYC to do some audio editing for Meg. It was great. Not sure about the release schedule for the project, but I’ll update when I know. Got stuck there Monday night due to weather Monday morning and the Port Authority. The flight Monday night was actually on-time, but the PA booted all off the Air Train (which would have taken 10 minutes) and made us take shuttles (1 hour). Gotta love that.
2. There is talk of releasing the Leandre/Cooke recording from ISIM. I am very excited about that. The performance was phenomenol, and the recording came out great.
3. I have an interview for a teaching job in late March or early April. Looking forward to that.
4. Inlay art for “The Passage” is finished, but I haven’t decided if I will do physical release on this one. It is the only project I am tempted to do one for, but so few people actually want CDs anymore.
5. Started researching a possible paper area (history of audio production) for the written document portion of the dissertation (the only thing left now that all of the music is finished). I have pretty good idea for a topic in this area. I’ll add more as I get it nailed down.
